U.S. History Unit 5 – They Fought Back!

The Our History in the United States course is designed for your middle or high school student, and it covers OUR history in the United States from ancient times to present day. Unit 5 covers our ancestors’ various responses to enslavement. They Fought Back! highlights the rebellious spirit from rebellions and sabotage to maroon communities (including Black Seminoles) to the abolitionist movement. This unit includes writing prompts and lessons and a math assignment (averages). It encourages the student to make connections between the past and the present and shows that our rebellious spirit is being awakened again today. A high school supplement is included to add additional assignments and rigor for your high school level students as well as writing aids to help students with their writing assignments.
